About the Author
Michael Sawyer is a ten year veteran of the Cyber Security industry. After graduating CSU, Chico where he studied Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics, he went on to complete an extended internship with Hewlett-Packard, became a DevOps Engineer at Veeva Systems and after a couple years, transitioned to become a Security engineer. Following Veeva Systems, Michael worked for an IoT startup, where he gained experience working with MQTT, embedded systems, building linux and containers from scratch, and developed code signing software for use in OTA update systems. Following his time there, he went on to work for a FinTech startup named Marqeta where he became an expert in Thales payment HSMs. He now works at Instacart’s Privacy Engineering team and enjoys working on his home lab and contributing to Open Source projects in his free time.
